What's so special in 2010?

This year we feature quartets only. We would like to show you as many types and faces of quartet playing as possible. Playing jazz in a quartet setting is not easy. Many say that trio settings are the most difficult because then all your notes count, there is no one to hide your wrong notes if there's any. Yes, but in a quartet you have to be cautious for not dubbing anyone else's notes or not overplaying any of your mates. So it's equally difficult – with a different approach. There will be ragtime, Django-type manouche swing, crazy American entertainment, hot jazz and modern swing. There will be four pianists at the Piano show and the host band, the 8-piece Bohém Ragtime Jazz Band (which will be split into two quartets during most of the tunes) has its anniversary of a quarter of a century.
