Robbie Rhodes (USA)

Robbie Robbie Rhodes, of Etiwanda, Calif., plays piano both in bands and as a soloist. Since 1965 he has arranged and played in the South Frisco Jazz Band (SFJB) and the Titanic Jazz Band of Los Angeles, and he is a substitute pianist with Evergreen Classic Jazz Band, Banu Gibson's New Orleans Hot Jazz and Don Neely's Royal Society Jazz Orchestra.

Besides the SFJB productions, he appears on record with bands of Ernie Carson, Hal Smith, and on piano collaborations with John W. "Knocky" Parker. His piano roll performances have been published by Hot Piano Classics, BluesTone and Play-Rite Music Roll companies.

As an accompanist he worked extensively with Rosy McHargue, and he arranged and performed on Rosy's CD production, Oh, How He Can Sing!

He appeared in concert with piano greats Johnny Guarnieri, Shelton Brooks and Joe Jordan, and with radio announcer Harry Von Zell in the road show Whatever Happened to 1910. Each year since 1976 he has played at the "Old Town Music Hall Ragtime Festival" in El Segundo, Calif.
