The band was founded by members of the former Blaskó Dixieland Band and the then-13-year old trumpet player Norbert Márton and drummer Valéria Varga in the summer of 2002. They have regularly performed in their hometown and in the region and were invited to the International Salgótarján Dixieland Festival in 2003.
The band has released three CD's so far. The Dixie Jam Session has its own club in its hometown where they feature internationally acclaimed guest stars. Their repertoire includes the greatest dixieland evergreens but they also have their own dixieland style arrangements on other hit melodies.
