The band was founded by members of the former Blaskó Dixieland Band and the then-13-year old trumpet player Norbert Márton and drummer Valéria Varga in the summer of 2002. They have regularly performed in their hometown and in the region and were invited to the International Salgótarján Dixieland Festival in 2003.
The band has released two CD's so far and will be recording its 3rd album in the summer of 2004.
The Dixie Jam Session has its own club in its hometown where they feature internationally acclaimed guest stars. They organized a Dixie Christmas in 2003 and they are hosting Robbie Rhodes at the "Bohém" Festival in 2004.
Their repertoire includes the greatest dixieland evergreens but they also have their own dixieland style arrangements on other hit melodies.
